Finding the right teaming partner used to mean cold calls, spreadsheet searches, and industry-day networking with no guarantee of a good fit. MERIT helps you narrow the field by surfacing companies with relevant experience, profile signals, and supporting award evidence.

How matching works

Team Matching looks across available company and award data to suggest firms that may complement your pursuit. Results are organized to help you compare options quickly, and each candidate can include supporting details such as relevant NAICS codes, agency experience, certifications, capabilities, and award evidence. Use the recommendation as a starting point, not a final teaming decision. Before contacting a company, review the evidence, confirm fit with your capture strategy, and validate availability directly with the partner.

Running a team match

1

Open Team Matching

From the dashboard, open Teaming Partners and click Find Matching Partners. You may also see Team Matching from pursuit or opportunity workflows when MERIT has enough context to suggest partners.
2

Start with opportunity context

If you have a SOW, RFI, PWS, or requirements document, upload it so MERIT can use the opportunity context while looking for partners. You can also skip the upload and search manually.
3

Set filters

Narrow the search to the type of partner you want to evaluate:
  • NAICS codes — focus on firms with specific codes
  • Agencies served — surface firms with experience at a target agency
  • Business certifications — filter by 8(a), WOSB, HUBZone, and others
  • Text search — search by company name, contract description, or capability keyword
You can run a broad search first and refine from there.
4

Review the results

MERIT returns a list of potential partners for review. Depending on the available data, each result may show:
  • Company name
  • Relevant NAICS codes
  • Agency and certification matches
  • Core capabilities
  • Supporting contract evidence
5

Review evidence

Use the contract evidence view when it is available to inspect the awards behind a recommendation. This helps you decide whether a company is worth saving, contacting, or excluding from a pursuit.

Your partners directory

The Partners directory is your saved partner list. Open Teaming Partners to search the directory, add companies, switch between grid and list views, and filter or sort your saved partners. Each saved partner can include:
  • Company name, certifications, and NAICS codes
  • Core capabilities and agencies served
  • Award evidence and summary metrics, when available
  • Date added and current relationship status
You can add partners from the directory’s Add Partners flow, or connect with companies from matching workflows when that option is available.

Working with saved partners

Once a company is in your partner network, open its detail card to review what MERIT has saved about the relationship.
1

Open the partner's detail card

From your Partners directory, click a company to open its profile. The detail view can show capabilities, past projects, certifications, award evidence, and relationship history.
2

Use partner actions

From the detail card, you can invite the company into an opportunity workflow, mark them as a competitor when appropriate, or remove them from your directory.
Removing a partner only removes the company from your saved partner directory. It does not delete the company from MERIT’s broader company index.
Start building your partners list early in the capture phase. Waiting until the proposal stage makes it harder to verify a partner’s past performance alignment and confirm their availability.
