MERIT helps program hosts run structured matchmaking events with event pages, attendee access, meeting schedules, QR networking, organizer views, and post-event reporting. The host workflow is designed for events where participants need more than an attendee list: they need a clear way to join, prepare, meet, connect, and follow up. This page covers the public hosting lifecycle at a high level. Exact setup steps may vary by event size, event format, and the scheduling model selected for your program.Documentation Index

Program host access is available for organizations that run structured matchmaking programs. If you’re setting up your first event, start at meritmatch.io/host-event to connect with the MERIT team.
Setting up your event
Create the event
In your MERIT organizer workspace, create a new event and enter the core details:
- Event name
- Description
- Venue and location
- Start and end dates
- Role labels for the event
Prepare attendees
Attendees join through the event experience and appear in the organizer attendee view. Organizers can review participant counts, search attendees, filter by role, adjust company roles where supported, remove attendees when needed, and export attendee data for event operations. For larger or more complex events, MERIT works with the host on the appropriate intake and setup process.
Choose the meeting model
MERIT supports different meeting workflows depending on the event:
- Organizer-managed scheduling — organizers use smart scheduling tools to create proposed matches and meeting schedules.
- Manual matching — attendees can use event matching and meeting request tools when the host enables that model.
- Open scheduling or meeting blocks — organizers can define when meetings may occur and how structured the event day should be.
Review meetings and schedule activity
Organizers can review proposed matches, schedule summaries, meeting lists, table assignments, and schedule utilization from the event management workspace.See Smart scheduling for more detail on the scheduling workflow.
Support the live event
During the event, attendees can use their event dashboard to view relevant event details, access meetings, browse available event tools, and use QR networking to exchange contact information.Organizers can monitor meeting activity and make operational adjustments from the event management views.
Day-of logistics
Event access
Attendees use the event link, event QR code, or event code provided by the host to access the event. Once joined, the event dashboard shows the tools available for that specific event.QR networking
QR networking helps attendees exchange contact information during meetings, hallway conversations, and open networking time. Scans create event-tagged connection activity in MERIT so attendees can revisit the people they met.Meeting management
Organizers can review scheduled meetings by time slot, table, and company pairing. Where supported, organizers can adjust table labels, place meetings, update pairings, or cancel meetings from the organizer meeting view.Participant visibility
Participant profile visibility depends on event configuration, participant role, and the views enabled for the event. Hosts should confirm the intended event experience with MERIT before attendee access is opened.Post-event review
After the event, organizers can use MERIT to review activity and prepare follow-up:- Review attendee participation
- Review meeting activity and schedule utilization
- Export attendee and meeting data where available
- Use QR networking connections as a record of event conversations
- Share event results internally using the reporting views available to organizers
