Past performance is easier to write when your team can start from relevant examples. In the Gate Tracker, MERIT can help you find award history that may be useful for the current pursuit, then add selected examples to the Past Performance field for review and editing. Treat the inserted text as a starting point. You should still tailor it to the opportunity, add context your team knows, and make sure it matches the story you want to tell in the capture record.

Run the lookup

1

Open the Gate Tracker

Open a pursuit workspace and click Gate Tracker.
2

Go to the Capture fields

Select Fields, then open the Capture stage. Find the Past Performance field.
3

Click Fetch Past Performance

Click Fetch Past Performance in the field. MERIT searches for relevant award history using the opportunity context available in the workspace.
4

Review the matches

MERIT shows matching awards in a review modal. Each match includes award details, relevance indicators, and source links when available.
5

Insert selected examples

Select the matches you want to use and click Insert. MERIT appends the selected examples to the Past Performance field.
Inserting selected examples updates the Gate Tracker field. You need edit access to the pursuit to use this action.

What MERIT uses

MERIT compares available award history with the pursuit context in your workspace. The more complete your opportunity and Gate Tracker details are, the easier it is to surface relevant examples. If MERIT does not have enough context, it may ask you to add more opportunity details before trying again.

Requirements

Your company needs a UEI saved in MERIT for past performance lookup to work. If the UEI is missing, go to Settings → Company and add it before running the lookup again. The lookup also depends on available award data. If no relevant awards appear, it may mean MERIT needs more opportunity context, your company has no matching award history available, or the award source is temporarily unavailable.

Tips for better results

Fill in the key opportunity and Gate Tracker details you already know before running the lookup.
Relevance labels help you scan results, but they are not final proposal language. Select only the examples that support your capture story.
After you click Insert, review the Past Performance field and tailor the text for the pursuit.
