If you are evaluating MERIT, just getting started, or trying to understand a specific feature, this page answers the questions we hear most often. Questions are organized by topic, so jump to the section that is most relevant to you. If you do not find what you are looking for here, contact support@meritmatch.io.

General

MERIT is a GovCon business development platform built for contractors and BD teams. It gives you one workspace to manage pursuit work, review opportunities, identify potential teaming partners, track capability gaps, and make more organized bid decisions. In practice, MERIT helps replace the collection of spreadsheets, email threads, shared folders, and disconnected capture notes that many BD teams rely on. Instead of scattering pursuit context across multiple places, your team can work from a shared record that keeps the important details together.
MERIT helps you review, import, and organize opportunities, but it should not be treated as a replacement for your broader market intelligence process. Many teams use MERIT alongside their existing sources, relationships, and capture routines. When you already have an opportunity or solicitation document, you can add it to MERIT so your team has a central place to manage the pursuit.
No. MERIT is not a proposal writing tool. It helps organize the capture and pursuit context your team needs before writing begins, including opportunity details, partner notes, staffing considerations, gaps, and past performance references. The actual proposal strategy, narrative, and submission remain your team’s responsibility.
Yes. MERIT helps you bring pursuit context into one place so your team can review fit, gaps, teaming needs, and next steps more clearly. It supports better bid discussions, but it does not replace your team’s judgment or capture process.

Privacy & security

Your pipeline is not visible to other MERIT customers, partners, competitors, or event participants. Access is limited to your organization and to authorized MERIT personnel or service providers when needed to operate, secure, or support the platform.
MERIT does not sell your pipeline data or share it with other customers. Your workspace data is used to provide the platform, support your account, and handle legal or operational requirements described in the Privacy Policy.
MERIT runs on modern cloud infrastructure and uses encryption in transit and at rest. For more detail on MERIT’s security posture, see the Privacy summary or the full Privacy Policy.
Not yet. MERIT is not currently FedRAMP authorized. If FedRAMP is a hard requirement for your organization, contact support@meritmatch.io to discuss your situation and timeline.
MERIT does not use customer workspace data to train AI models for other customers. Your workspace data is used to provide features inside your own account and as otherwise described in the Privacy Policy.
No. Competitors using MERIT cannot see your pursuits, pipeline, partner notes, or other private workspace data.
Your data is handled in accordance with MERIT’s Privacy Policy. Contact support@meritmatch.io before canceling if you want to export your data or understand the retention timeline. See the full Privacy Policy for complete details.

Yes. MERIT is built for cross-functional BD teams. Depending on your plan and seat setup, BD managers, capture leads, staffing contributors, reviewers, and leadership can work from the same pursuit record instead of maintaining separate copies of the same information.
Workspace owners can manage seat access from MERIT. If you have a larger team or need a review-heavy setup, contact support@meritmatch.io to discuss the best plan and access model for your organization.
No. All paid plans include unlimited pursuits. You can add as many opportunities to your pipeline as you need without hitting per-opportunity limits or additional charges.

Features

Yes. You can upload opportunity documents so the source material stays attached to the pursuit record. MERIT can help draft or organize key pursuit details for your review, depending on the document and enabled workspace features.
Yes. MERIT helps you discover potential partners and build a more focused outreach list using the company and pursuit context available in your workspace. You still decide who to contact, how to qualify them, and whether they are a good fit for a specific bid.
Yes. MERIT can help you compare staffing information against opportunity requirements and identify gaps your team may need to resolve before bidding. The workflow is intended to support planning conversations, not replace recruiting, qualification, or compliance review.
MERIT includes early pricing checks on supported plans. These checks are meant to help your team spot alignment issues and review assumptions earlier in the pursuit, not produce final pricing or replace your pricing team.
MERIT includes a built-in pursuit workflow designed for GovCon BD teams. If your organization has enterprise requirements or a specific process you need to support, contact support@meritmatch.io to discuss options.
MERIT can support exports for teams that need to move information into another system. For CRM workflows or integration questions, contact support@meritmatch.io to discuss your setup.

Matchmaking Hub

No. MERIT includes a full business development platform for contractors, and the Matchmaking Hub is the event and program side of the product. It is designed for hosts that run structured networking, matchmaking, or small business engagement programs.
MERIT uses attendee profiles, stated preferences, and event setup details to help organizers identify relevant meeting options. Organizers can review the proposed matches before schedules are finalized.
Yes. MERIT can help generate meeting schedules based on participant availability and event configuration. Organizers stay in control and can review or adjust schedules before sharing them with attendees.
No. MERIT is entirely browser-based. Attendees access the platform on any device, including phone, tablet, or desktop, without downloading or installing anything. This significantly reduces friction for first-time participants.
Yes. Hosts can use MERIT to support vendor-to-vendor connections as well as buyer-seller meetings, depending on the event format.
MERIT helps hosts review event participation, scheduled meetings, meeting activity, and other operational outcomes available in the event workspace. Hosts can use those records to summarize event activity for leadership or stakeholders.
Yes. MERIT supports CSV exports for event records such as meeting data. If you need a specific reporting format, contact support@meritmatch.io before your event.
Attendee visibility depends on the event setup. MERIT is designed to share only the information needed for the event experience, while keeping private workspace data separate.
Yes. Organizer workspaces are separate from other customer workspaces. Participant data, match records, and meeting records are available to authorized users for that program or event.
MERIT does not sell attendee lists. Participant data is used to provide the event experience and support the program as described in the applicable terms and privacy policy.
Setup timing depends on event size, registration status, schedule complexity, and host requirements. Contact support@meritmatch.io early so the MERIT team can help plan the right setup path.
Yes. MERIT can support programs that run more than one event per year. Event scope and pricing depend on the size and requirements of each program.
Yes. MERIT can support large event programs. For events with thousands of attendees or complex scheduling needs, contact support@meritmatch.io so the team can review scope and requirements with you.
CSV import can help hosts add participant data in bulk. The best import approach depends on your registration workflow and event setup.
Yes. Hosts can use MERIT across a broader program calendar, not only on the event day. Many teams use event records, participant data, and follow-up planning to support engagement before and after structured matchmaking sessions.
Contact support@meritmatch.io to discuss integration options with your existing registration platform.

Support & onboarding

Many teams can begin using MERIT right away after creating an account and completing their company profile. Larger teams, enterprise workspaces, and event programs may need additional setup time. Growth and Enterprise customers can receive onboarding help from the MERIT team.
Yes. BD 101 is a free GovCon BD curriculum included with every account. It covers the pursuit lifecycle from BD fundamentals through capture planning and execution. See the BD 101 page for the full curriculum.
